20th APG|SGA sustainability report: positive overall result for 2022 and multi-year targets on track

April 19, 2023

APG|SGA has been transparently and comprehensively reporting on its annual sustainability developments for twenty years. Its Sustainability Report 2022 is now available: the 20th report to provide information about the status of the actions and targets implemented as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy. Its A- CDP Climate Change Score shows that APG|SGA plays a leading role in climate protection reporting. The company is on track to meet its ambitious multi-year targets for net zero emissions by 2035.

APG|SGA has been specifically focusing on climate protection and reducing its environmental impact for over twenty years. Markus Ehrle, CEO of APG|SGA, says: “We’re on the right track when it comes to implementing the Paris Agreement and the 1.5-degree target. Last year, our company limited the increase in CO2 emissions to 2% and in our overall environmental impact to 4%, despite much greater economic activity. The reasons for this development were voluntary and sometimes radical energy-saving measures, as well as the consistent implementation of our CSR strategy. These measures were implemented in line with the national energy saving alliance and supported by the entire workforce.”

On track to achieve net zero
APG|SGA’s understanding of sustainability has developed over decades, is embedded in the core of the company and is becoming ever more important. For this reason, APG|SGA created the position of Head of Sustainability last year and appointed Andres Trautmann, who says: “In the coming years, we want to complete our transition to a net zero company. We are therefore evaluating all our processes and defining necessary and realistic steps that will allow us to achieve permanent emission reductions.” In 2023, APG|SGA aims to have its ambitious reduction targets validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and take greater control over its indirect emissions. APG|SGA also promotes environmentally friendly products and services to support its customers and partners.

Social responsibility as an important cornerstone of sustainable interaction
In addition to climate protection, APG|SGA has also set itself high social responsibility standards and targets as part of its overall CSR strategy. APG|SGA is proud of its diversity. The company supports diversity and promotes gender equality. An anonymous whistleblower system was also introduced in 2022 as an important element of its transparent and secure corporate culture. Occupational health management (OHM) contributes to well-being in the workplace.

In addition, APG|SGA continues to maintain and develop social and cultural partnerships. APG|SGA uses poster sponsorship valued in the low eight figures to support various non-profit, cultural and sporting organisations; this includes organising the Swiss Out of Home Award alongside other creative competitions in the field of Out of Home Media.
